My Thoughts : I'm not a big fan of The Doors. In fact, I'm the casual fan who hopes to collect greatest hits album of every reknown group in the 60's and 70's. So, for a single disc collections of the Doors is enough for me. But if i find that i'm getting fond of the group, then only i' ll spend further.

Release in 2001, this album is a re issue of the previous double disker in 1985 with abstracted hits. Of course, only the best are presented in this album. Big Hits like "Break on Through", "Light my Fire", "Rider of The Storm", "Touch Me", and "Hello I Love You".

Overall, if one is a casual fan of The Doors or try to know the group. Then "The Very Best of The Doors" is certainly a great package as all the songs are digitally remastered with 16 tracks and it doesn't cost as much as the double disk.

For any hard core fan, the double disk "The Best of the Doors " should not be miss or with the recent release of "The Very Best of The Doors" by Rhino/Wea will also be a good choice as the there's total of 34 tracks compare to 19 tracks in "The Best of The Doors"
